Mourinho anger at delay in new deals for Manchester United duo
Jose Mourinho is growing increasingly frustrated at how long Manchester United are taking in issuing new contracts to Marcos Rojo and Anthony Martial, claims The Daily Mail.
United opened contract extension talks with representatives of both players in December but they are still waiting to be offered a formal offer raising doubts about their respective long-term futures at the club.
Rojo has already been touted with a surprise £30m move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, while Martial has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford ever since Mourinho was appointed manager in 2016.
Their current deals are due to expire at the end of next season and Mourinho is angry that United are taking so long in resolving their long-term futures ahead of the summer.
After a turbulent first season under Mourinho, Martial has finally kicked on this time around even though he has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth.
Alexis Sanchez’s arrival in January has not helped convince Martial has a long-term future at the club, even though he is arguably the most talented attacker at the club’s disposal.
In fact, despite only starting 16 Premier League matches this season, only Romelu Lukaku (13) has scored more goals than Martial (9) for United this season.
