Manchester United midfielder favours Roma move

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is favouring a move to Roma over Turkish giants Besiktas, according to Corriere dello Sport, via The Daily Mail.

Fellaini is out of contract at the end of the season and United are fighting a losing battle in their attempts to keep the Belgium international.

Besiktas have been heavily linked with a move for Fellaini since the turn of the year but have been unable to close a deal for the 30-year-old.

Fellaini has also been mooted with a shock switch to Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, but is thought to prefer a move to Roma.

An on-going knee problem has limited Fellaini to just 429 minutes of playing time in the Premier League this season.

However, Fellaini is now fit again but has been left out of United’s last two matchday squads, as it appears manager Jose Mourinho is selecting players still committed to the club.

United have an identical win ratio in the Premier League under Mourinho when Fellaini has started compared to when he hasn’t (57.1%).
