Manchester United enter race for Premier League forward

Manchester United are keeping tabs on the future of Watford forward Richarlison but will face stiff competition for his signature, claims Sky Sports.

Richarlison has made a positive impression during his first year in the Premier League and is widely expected to make a high profile move at the end of the season.

Tottenham and Chelsea have already been heavily linked with a move for the 20-year-old and now United have entered the race for his signature.

Anthony Martial’s future at Old Trafford has suddenly been cast into doubt after it emerged on Tuesday that the France international rejected United’s offer of a new contract.

The 22-year-old wants regular playing time and will now commit to the Red Devils unless Jose Mourinho gives him assurances and the United boss is weighing up a move for Richarlison as a result.

Richarlison made a flying start to life at Watford but his form has tailed off dramatically since December.

After scoring or assisting nine goals in his first 17 league games for the Hornets (five goals, four assists), Richarlison has now failed to do either in his last 16 appearances for the club.

He has even lost a place in the team for Watford’s last two matches but his decline has not put off potential suitors.
