Tottenham are weighing up a sensational £30m move for Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook, claims The Daily Star.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side haven't made a single signing this summer and are running out of time to strengthen their squad ahead of next Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Tottenham look to have paid the price in attempting to drive Jack Grealish’s price down and now the London outfit are interested in Bournemouth’s Cook.
Cook has previously been linked with a move to Liverpool but now Tottenham have entered the race for the England international.
Bournemouth, who have also been quiet in the transfer window, signed Cook from Leeds in a deal worth as much as £10m in 2016 and now stand to make as much as three times that amount.
Cook initially struggled to force his way into the reckoning under Eddie Howe but was a first-team regular by the end of last season, usurping club icon Harry Arter in the pecking order for places.
The 21-year-old has four years remaining on the contract he signed in May, leaving Bournemouth in a strong position over his future if Tottenham step up their interest over the next week.
Of players aged 23 and under in the Premier League last season, only Wilfred Ndidi (138) made more tackles than Cook (67).
