Liverpool star Alisson to return against Manchester United

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson will mark his comeback from injury in Sunday's clash with rivals Manchester United, claims The Daily Telegraph.

Alisson has missed Liverpool's last 11 matches in all competitions after suffering a serious ankle injury at the beginning of the season.

The Brazil international has made steady progress in his rehabiliation and is now poised to return immediately after the international break.

Adrian has done a fine job deputising in Alisson's place but sentiment will go out of the window when the Premier League resumes this weekend.

Liverpool are eight points clear of Manchester City in the Premier League, with United a staggering 15 points back after just eight matches.

Of goalkeepers that have made at least 10 Premier League appearances since the beginning of last season, Alisson has the best save success rate (76.5%).

Furthermore, only Ederson (23) has kept more clean sheets than Alisson (21) in the Premier League and his compatriot has made seven more appearances in that time.
