'De Bruyne won't see out his contract' - Allofs

Wolfsburg’s sporting director Klaus Allofs says Kevin De Bruyne will be “happy” if he remains at the Volkswagen Arena this summer, but concedes he will be sold before his contract expires in 2019.

The former Chelsea midfielder has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League this summer, with Manchester City reportedly at the front of the queue to land the Belgium international.

However, no club has lodged a “serious offer” for De Bruyne, according to Allofs.

“The situation is the same. We don’t want to sell him,” Allofs told Sky Sports News.

“As everybody knows, he has a contract until 2019. We have had no serious offers, but we know that there are clubs who are interested.

“He is happy with us, he made the right choice when he came as he was not happy at Chelsea. It wsa also the right move for Wolfsburg, and we know he is happy.”

“We know we are not going to keep him until 2019, or even 2018. He has only been with us for a year and a half. If he stays, which will probably be the case, he will be happy.”
