Surprise Premier League club eye Manchester United target Rose
Everton are interested in making a surprise move for Tottenham left-back Danny Rose this summer, claims The Sun.
Rose has dropped down the pecking order at Tottenham since criticising the club’s recruitment policy 12 months ago.
The England international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United since then but Jose Mourinho’s side are first targeting Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
Rose is known to what to move north in order to return closer to home in Doncaster and Everton are ready to pounce on the situation, as the Merseysiders seek a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines.
Tottenham are ready to cash in on Rose but will hope to command £50m for his services, as they did for Kyle Walker last summer.
However, Everton have no intentions of paying that much and will hope to instead secure Rose’s services for a deal in the region of £40m.
The 27-year-old, who returned from a serious knee injury midway through the season, was limited to just 10 Premier League appearances and two starts in the Champions League this season.
