David Neres has put an end to speculation over a move to Manchester United by penning a new deal with Ajax.
The Brazilian winger was linked with a switch to United over the weekend as the Premier League side seek wide reinforcements.
And with the transfer window closing at 5pm on Thursday, United would have had to act fast to get the deal over the line.
However, Neres has today put pen to paper on a new contract with the Eredvisie powerhouse, signing a one-year contract extension until 2023.
The news will come as a blow to United, who have been looking to add another wide player to the squad.
United completed a deal to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City earlier this week, making him the most expensive defender in history.

The centre-back is the club’s third summer signing after Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Swansea and Crystal Palace, respectively.
United have been frustrated in their efforts to add to the squad this summer having recently seen moves for Paulo Dybala and Christian Eriksen, along with Neres, fall through.
A deal for Romelu Lukaku to leave the club is coming close to fruition too, with the Belgian set for a move to Inter.
