Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has rebuffed rumours of a potential summer exit from France and a possible return to Germany.
The shotstopper, who is currently with the Germany national team in Russia ahead of the Confederations Cup, has been linked with moves to Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg.
The 26-year-old failed to make a regular starting spot his own following Alphonse Areola’s move to the Parc des Princes, yet still featured in 24 league games as PSG failed to successfully defend Ligue 1 crown.
It remains unclear who will be Unai Emery’s number one goalkeeper for PSG next season, but Trapp is adamant that he wants to stay in Paris.
"I have also read these rumours of a potential return but they are untrue," Trapp told Sport1.
"These claims are a mystery to me and I do not know where they have come from.
"I still have three years left on my PSG contract and I would like to see them through. I signed on for the long term because I want to build something with this club."
Despite not wholly convincing Emery that he warrants the number one spot, Trapp’s save success rate (77%) was the best of all goalkeepers to make five or more appearances in Ligue 1 last season.
