Courtois targets festive return

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has declared he is hoping to return to full fitness by December.

Courtois, 23, has missed Chelsea’s last seven games in all competitions after injuring his knee in training.

The Belgium international was subsequently required surgery and was told he could be out until the New Year, however the lanky shot stopper insists he could return before then.

“In terms of my knee, it is good. I am doing my rehabilitation and it is progressing fine,” Courtois is quoted as saying by London Evening Standard.

“I will be [now] starting the bulk of the work with my physio to come back as soon as possible.”
