Cristiano Ronaldo has an offer from Paris Saint-Germain
Cristiano Ronaldo will present Real Madrid with an offer from Paris Saint-Germain when he meets with president Florentino Perez to discuss his future, reports MARCA.
The 32-year-old is currently away at the Confederations Cup with Portugal but will sit down with Perez after returning from international duty to discuss whether he will still be a Madrid player next season.
Ronaldo left Madrid stunned when it emerged from his camp that he wanted to quit the European Champions shortly after their historic Champions League triumph at the start of the month.
The veteran striker is reportedly unhappy at the way he has been treated by the Spanish tax authorities after being taken to trial over tax evasion and is believed to have called his decision to leave the country as ‘irreversible’.
However, Ronaldo is now believed to have calmed over the situation following Perez’s press conference earlier this week but that still hasn’t stopped PSG from offering Ronaldo an escape route from Madrid.
Manchester United are also believed to be monitoring the situation but are weary of being used by their former star for a new contract, which seems like the most likely outcome at this stage.
However, Ronaldo will present Perez with his €200m (£176m) offer from PSG after the Confederations Cup, which should make for an interesting conversation with the Madrid president.
Ronaldo’s off field distractions certainly haven’t impacted his performances on the pitch for Portugal having been instrumental in their opening two matches of the Confederations Cup. In fact, he has scored 32 goals in 32 appearances for club and country in 2017.
