Schlupp signs new Leicester deal

Leicester City have fended off interest from other Premier League clubs to keep wideman Jeffrey Schlupp at the club until 2019.

Schlupp, 22, had reportedly been a target for Arsenal, Aston Villa and Swansea City this summer, but has instead decided to continue his development at the King Power Stadium.

The Ghana international flourished in his first season of Premier League football, picking up both of the club’s inaugural player of the year titles at the end of the season. Only Riyad Mahrez (4.9) attempted more dribbles than Schlupp (4) in the Premier League for the Foxes in 2014/15.

Leicester only gave the German-born left sided midfielder a new contract 12 months ago, but have rewarded Schlupp for an impressive campaign in order to keep him at the club.
