Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is eyeing up a return to Spain and has his sights set on replacing Gary Neville as Valencia head coach at the end of the season, according to Super Deporte, via Football Espana.
Pellegrini, 62, is being replaced as City manager by Pep Guardiola at the end of the season and is reportedly targeting one final big job in Europe before returning to his native Chile to manager the national team.
The former Real Madrid manager is also suggested to be on the radar of Zenit St. Petersburg and Arsenal, but Pellegrini reportedly favours a return to La Liga and is the frontrunner to replace Neville at the end of the season.
Valencia aren’t expected to renew Neville’s contract at the end of the current campaign after struggling to turn round the fortunes of Los Che since replacing Nuno in December.
In fact, since Neville’s first home league fixture (19th December) only Sporting Gijon (12) have taken fewer points on home soil than Neville’s Valencia (13).
