Manchester United and Chelsea on red alert over top target confession
Manchester United and Chelsea have been put on red alert after it emerged that top summer target Franck Kessie favours a Premier League switch, according to talkSPORT.
The 20-year-old has established himself as one of the hottest young prospects on the continent as he continues to shine for Serie A outfit Atalanta.
AS Roma were thought to have had a deal in place to sign Kessie in January, but those reports were quickly dismissed, paving the way for the Premier League pair to make their move in the summer.
Tottenham, Napoli and Juventus, along with Roma, are also thought to be interested in the youngster, but are behind United and Chelsea in the race to lure Kessie away from Italy and are willing to pay around £30m to land the Ivorian.
He, along with Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko, are the most sought after midfielders in Europe as the season nears its end, with Chelsea thought to be leading the way to sign the Frenchman.
Should that come to fruition, it remains to be seen whether the Blues firm up their interest in Kessie, or whether that will leave United with a free run at the Ivory Coast international, who has six goals and two assists to his name in Serie A this term.
