Chelsea have potentially been served with a real blow in their pursuit of Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko after his agent revealed the Frenchman’s dream is to play for Paris Saint-Germain.
Chelsea are understood to be leading the likes of Manchester United, PSG and Juventus in the chase for the Monaco midfielder as Antonio Conte looks to conclude his summer transfer business early ahead of next season.
Bakayoko, who made his France debut against Spain on Tuesday evening, is expected to leave Monaco in the summer after playing an integral part in their hugely impressive campaign.
However, Chelsea and any other club may now have to look at alternative targets after Bakayoko’s agent and brother put out a come and get me plea to Ligue 1 giants PSG.
“We’ve talked about it [joining PSG] because Tiemoue is Parisian,” he told RMC, via The Daily Mail. “When he was young, he wanted to go to PSG. He always dreamed of moving there.
“When I asked him to imagine that he’d move to PSG one day, he told me ‘I’d honestly like that. If they were to offer me a deal, I don’t see why I would refuse it.”
Only Benjamin Andre (179) and Julien Feret (166) have won possession in the midfield third more times in Ligue 1 this season than Bakayoko (132).
