World Cup winner rejects reports of January move to Liverpool

Mario Gotze has moved to dismiss speculation linking him with a January move to Liverpool.

The Germany international has struggled for first team action at Bayern Munich this season, leading to reports he could depart the Allianz Arena during the winter transfer window.

Gotze worked with current Reds boss Jurgen Klopp during their time at Borussia Dortmund, with the player becoming a household name under his compatriot.

However, while the 23-year-old has admitted he could depart for pastures new at the end of the campaign, Gotze is adamant he will not be leaving Bayern this month.

"I can definitely confirm that I will not be leaving the club this winter. I don't know of any interest from Liverpool," Gotze told SportBild.

"I have a contract until 2017, I'm happy. But of course, what happens beyond the summer makes you think.

"I would love to work under Carlo Ancelotti. Toni Kroos has told me good things. Under Klopp I learnt a lot. He is a smashing coach."
