Sevilla are battling to fend off competition from Barcelona and Inter to keep hold of midfielder Ever Banega, according to AS, via Football Espana.
Banega, 27, is out of contract at the end of the season and there had been reports at the start of the year that suggested the Argentina international had already reached a pre-contract agreement to sign for Inter.
While Sevilla look set to lose the former Valencia midfielder, the destination remains unclear with Barcelona reportedly now in the race to sign him.
Barcelona have reportedly made contact with Banega’s representatives regarding a summer switch and Luis Enrique’s side are suggested to have received their blessings from Lionel Messi, who is good friends with his international compatriot.
Despite an uncertain future, Banega has still been one of Sevilla’s best players this season. In fact, only Kevin Gameiro (13) has scored more league goals than Banega this season (4), despite only starting in 13 matches.
