Inter defender set for Valencia switch

Inter defender Jeison Murillo is closing in on a permanent move back to Spain with Valencia on the brink of signing the Colombian, reports Gazzetta dello Sport, via AS.

Los Che have already signed Neto from Juventus and Nemanja Maksimovic from Astana this summer and are now poised to make their third signing of the transfer window.

Murillo has spent the last two years with Inter after sealing a permanent move away from Granada in 2015, but he has slowly dropped down the pecking order at the Serie A giants.

Valencia are keen to sign another central defender after being priced out of a permanent move for Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala, who spent last season on loan at the Mestalla.

Aymen Abdennour has also been sounded out by Premier League sides this summer but delegates from Inter have flown to Spain to concluded a deal that will provide Marcelino with cover at the heart of his defence.

In the last two Serie A campaigns only Inter team-mate Miranda (90) was fouled more times than Murillo (82) of all defenders.
