Arsenal boss rules out move for Aubameyang

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has dismissed suggestions he will move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if Alexis Sanchez leaves this month.

Reports emerged earlier in the week suggesting Wenger had identified Aubameyang as the ideal replacement for Sanchez, who has entered the final six months of his existing Arsenal deal.

Sanchez is widely expected to reunite with Pep Guardiola at City this month and Arsenal will be forced to buy a replacement for the Chile international.

However, when quizzed whether Aubameyang was an option, the London Evening Standard quote Wenger as replying: “No, that is not a possibility".

Aubameyang has been heavily linked with a move away from Dortmund after coming to blows with the club behind the scenes.

Despite rumours of discontent, Aubameyang has still been on fire in front of goal for the Bundesliga giants this season.

In fact, only Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski (15) has scored more Bundesliga goals than Aubameyang (13) this season.
