Southampton have signed Queens Park Rangers defender Steven Caulker on a season-long loan deal, the club has announced.
Ronald Koeman has acted quickly to bolster the centre of his defence following the news Florin Gardos would be out of action until February with a knee injury.
The 23-year-old has now been relegated two seasons on the bounce after QPR finished rocked bottom in the Premier League last season, following relegation with Cardiff City the season prior.
Last season, only one outfield player made more starts in the Premier League for QPR than Caulker, and similarly, only one teammate gained a higher WhoScored rating than the England international in England’s top-flight (7.17).
