Chelsea to offer star new contract

Chelsea want to offer Diego Costa a new lucrative contract in a bid to end ongoing speculation linking the striker with a return to Atletico Madrid, reports The Daily Mirror

Costa, 28, was heavily linked with a return to his former club in the summer and has already admitted it was a move he wanted to happen.

However, new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was desperate to keep the Spain international and Costa has been in sensational form for the Blues this season.

Costa still has three years remaining on the five-year deal he signed when he joined Chelsea from Atletico in a deal worth £32m in 2014, but the Premier League outfit are understandably keen to offer the troublesome striker fresh terms in order to end Atletico’s interest in the frontman.
