Manchester United monitoring Lyon striker

Manchester United are scouting Lyon striker Moussa Dembele ahead of the summer transfer window, claims The Daily Mirror.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly been promised a huge budget this summer as United look to rebuild following another sub-par campaign.

With Romelu Lukaku’s future at Old Trafford in question, United are pondering their options and former Celtic striker Dembele is reportedly being considered.

Dembele left Celtic to join Lyon in a £19.7m deal in August 2018 but has only started 19 league matches in his maiden season.

The 22-year-old was linked with a Premier League move to Brighton prior to signing for Lyon and is now surprisingly on United’s radar.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is also keen on Dembele but may instead pursue Bournemouth star Ryan Fraser, who this week rejected a new contract from the Cherries.

Despite limited playing time for Dembele this season, he is still Lyon’s top scorer in Ligue 1 (12) and has also registered four assists.
