Manchester United confident of £50m move for Paris Saint-Germain ace
Manchester United are growing increasingly confident of securing Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos in a deal worth £50, reports The Daily Mirror.
Marquinhos, 22, has emerged as a top transfer target for Jose Mourinho’s side this season with the United manager keen to bolster his defensive options in the summer.
The Brazil international has endured a turbulent time at PSG but has finally established himself as a first-choice defender under Unai Emery this season and the Ligue 1 giants would be reluctant to lose him.
Marcos Rojo isn’t expected back to full fitness until later this year after suffering a serious knee injury against Anderlecht last week and Mourinho has reservations over Phil Jones and Chris Smalling’s long-term suitability after challenging them to play through the pain barrier to help his injury hit squad.
Only Presnel Kimpembe (93.4%) and Thiago Silva (93.5%) have a better pass success rate in Ligue 1 for PSG this season than Marquinhos (93.3%).
