Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho could make a third attempt to sign Ivan Perisic in January, reports the London Evening Standard.
Mourinho wanted to sign Perisic in each of his first two summers as United manager and was left frustrated with the club after they refused to match Inter’s £48m valuation.
The Croatia international was identified as the ideal player to solve United’s issues on the right wing by Mourinho despite the fact the 29-year-old has produced his best displays for Inter on the left.
However, Inter are reportedly now looking to offload Perisic and there have even been suggestions they will listen to offers as low as £31m in January.
Mourinho has been put on red alert by the news and United could make a third play for the experienced forward when the transfer window opens at the start of next year.
Funds are expected to be available for Mourinho after enduring a disastrous summer and start to the season, with the club already 12 points adrift of league leaders Manchester City.
Perisic has started nine league games for Inter this season and played an integral part in Croatia’s run to the 2018 World Cup final, evening scoring in the 4-2 defeat to France.
However, Perisic is without a goal for club and country in his last 17 matches and has only provided two assists in that time.
