Kalinic confirmed as Milan's eleventh summer signing

AC Milan have completed the signing of Nikola Kalinin from Fiorentina, the club have confirmed via their official website.

The Croatian international has joined on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy, agreeing a four-year contract at San Siro.

The Serie A giants have been extremely busy in the transfer window, with another striker seen as the final piece to the puzzle for Vincenzo Montella, and while Kalinic certainly wasn’t the club’s first choice, they are likely to settle with what they have got now.

The 29-year-old swells the ranks at Milan, who had already signed ten new players as they aim to return to the summit of Italy’s top-flight.

In two seasons with Fiorentina the former Blackburn striker scored 27 goals in 68 Serie A appearances, adding a further 5 in seven Europa League outings last season.

He is likely to lead the line for the Rossoneri, who can also call upon the likes of new additions Andre Silva and Fabio Borini in attack, along with Suso and youngster Patrick Cutrone, who shone in a 3-0 opening day win over Crotone.
