Chelsea eye move for Madrid star

Chelsea are planning a summer move for Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, according to Italian paper Corriere Dello Sport, via Metro.

Ramos, 30, was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United last summer before he penned a new five-year deal to see out the remaining best years of his career at Madrid.

However, the Spain international has been in poor form this season and is now a target of Chelsea, who are expected to make wholesale changes in the summer under new manager Antonio Conte.

The reigning Premier League champions have reportedly offered Branislav Ivanovic to Serie A giants Roma in order to make room and accommodate for Ramos in their squad, although with John Terry out of contract at the end of the season they may not actually have to sell Ivanovic as well.

Ramos has been sent off as many times in his last two league appearances (2) than he had in his previous 64 matches in La Liga combined.
