LA Galaxy have confirmed they have signed former Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong.
The Netherlands international has been heavily linked with a move from AC Milan to Galaxy in the last month after dropping down the pecking order at the Serie A giants.
De Jong, 31, has now completed the move and Galaxy manager Bruce Arena has heralded the capture.
“Nigel is an experienced midfielder who will help the players around him get better,” Arena told the Galaxy website.
“He will add qualities on the field that can strengthen our team in all areas. We look forward to Nigel coming to Los Angeles and joining our club.”
De Jong has only made five appearances in Serie A this season but hasn’t featured for Milan since being sent off against Verona midway through December.
