Manchester United star back on Real Madrid’s radar

Manchester United’s task of keeping David de Gea has been complicated further following news the Spaniard is back on Real Madrid’s radar, claims The Daily Mirror.

Madrid’s long-term pursuit of De Gea appeared to end last summer when Los Blanocs decided to sign Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea.

The Belgium international has, however, endured a difficult first season at Madrid and was dropped for Zinedine Zidane’s first game back in charge.

Zidane was re-appointed Madrid manager at the start of the week and reinstated Keylor Navas in goal for Saturday’s victory over Celta Vigo.

It is now claimed that the Frenchman wants Madrid to rekindle their interest in De Gea, who will only have 12 months left to run on his current deal at the end of the season.

United have been locked in contract talks with De Gea for a number of months but have so far refused to make the 28-year-old one of the top earners at the club.

Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have been monitoring De Gea’s future at Old Trafford all season but now the Red Devils face losing the Spaniard to Madrid.

Only two goalkeepers have made more saves than De Gea (96) in the Premier League this season.
