Madrid confident of landing £50m-rated midfielder

Real Madrid are growing increasingly confident that they have won the race to sign £50m-rated midfielder Andre Gomes from Valencia, according to Marca, via The Daily Mail.

Gomes, 23, has been heavily linked with a move away from Valencia this summer and has courted reported interest from Inter and Manchester City.

However, both look set to be trumped to his signature by Zinedine Zidane’s side after Madrid made it clear they are willing to pay a staggering £50m for his services.

Gomes endured a frustrating season for a dismal Valencia outfit last season and was dropped to the bench for the latter stage of Portugal’s Euro 2016 success.

He completed more dribbles than any other Valencia player in the league last season (52) and played a direct hand in six league goals (3 goals, 3 assists) from 30 appearances.
