Watford rule out sale of star striker

Watford are adamant they will entertain any offers for star striker Odion Ighalo in January, according to the Daily Mail.

Ighalo, 26, has been in sensational form since the start of the season and has been one of the main factors behind Watford’s incredible campaign, which leaves them only four points off the top four going into the weekend.

The Nigeria international’s performances are likely to have grabbed the attention of several clubs looking to add goals to their front line in the January transfer window, but they will have to look elsewhere with Watford not looking to cash in on their star striker.

“You just need to do the sums. Even an offer of silly money would be nowhere near what the club would get for staying up,” a club source told the Daily Mail.

There has been no team more reliant on their striker than Watford’s dependence on Ighalo this season, with the striker scoring a greater proportion of his teams’ goals than any other player in the Premier League this season (56%).
