Swansea planning contract talks with midfield maestro
Swansea are planning contract talks with goalscoring midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, reports the South Wales Evening Post.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a fine second half to the season under Francesco Guidolin, ending the campaign with 11 goals and three assists inthe Premier League.
He is currently with the Iceland national team ahead of Euro 2016 and his two years left to run on his current deal, with Swansea keen to tie him to a new long-term contract.
Premier League champions Leicester City are supposedly interested in Sigurdsson, with a £15m move being touted this summer, but Swansea are eager to see the 26-year-old pen a new contract.
"Over the next few weeks we will be having dicussions with Gylfi's agent," Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said.
"We will talk about the player's thoughts and we will discuss his future with us."
