Fiorentina seeking to tie Liverpool target down to a new deal
Fiorentina are hoping to ward off interest from Liverpool in star striker Dusan Vlahovic by offering the young forward a new deal, according to Italian publication Calciomercato.
The Viola laboured to a 14th-placed finish in Serie A last season, with a key reason for their eventual survival being the form of frontman Vlahovic.
The 21-year-old netted 21 times in Italy's top tier last term, finishing fourth in the race for the Capocannoniere, which was ultimately won by Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Vlahovic's superb form in front of goal hasn't gone unnoticed, with a hosts of Europe's top sides monitoring the Serb.
Liverpool, who have been credited with an interest in PSV man Donyell Malen, are looking to bring in a new forward this summer and are believed to be keeping tabs on Vlahovic.
Fiorentina are aware they have a star on their hands, so are keen to keep the youngster in Florence and are reportedly readying a new deal to convince him to remain in Italy.
In addition to his 21 goals, Vlahovic also laid on an additional three assists for Fiorentina.
