Europe's top rated player set to extend Barca stay

Neymar is hoping to end speculation over a move away from Barcelona by penning a new deal with the club.

Manchester United were strongly linked with a move for the Brazil international over the summer, yet no deal materialised.

Neymar has gone on to excel for the Blaugrana this season and is currently the top rated player in Europe's top 5 leagues, with a rating of 8.83 after another perfect 10 performance against Real Sociedad on Saturday.

The 23-year-old is contracted to the La Liga champions until 2018, but recent tax issues through his immediate future into doubt.

However, speaking after the 4-0 win over Real Sociedad, Neymar said: "I still have some years left on my contract and my father has already spoken about my future.

"It's true that my father said that the tax issues are a problem, but we're talking all that over. I'm still under contract and of course I intend to sign a new one."
