Chelsea target pens new deal

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has agreed to a new one-year extension keeping him with the reigning Serie A champions until 2018, according to Tuttosport, via Football Italia.

Allegri’s current deal is due to expire at the end of next season and the Italian has been heavily mooted as a potential target for Chelsea, who are looking to appoint a new long-term manager at the end of the season.

However, Chelsea were reportedly knocked back in their advances of the Juventus manager and instead opted to pursue Italy head coach Antonio Conte, with confirmation of that appointment thought to be imminent.

Juventus’ 4-1 win over Torino at the weekend was Allegri’s 100th game in charge of the Old Lady and he boasts a stellar win ratio of 67%, having only lost 14 matches.
