Neymar’s father has revealed the Barcelona star is still receiving offers from other clubs but he expects his son to extend his stay at the Camp Nou.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the past and his father previously revealed Louis van Gaal’s side had failed with a £140m bid.
Neymar is currently in contract talks with Barcelona to become one of the top earners at the club, although there had been suggestions he would seek a move away after becoming embroiled legal issues regarding tax evasion.
And it has now been revealed that the Brazil international is still receiving offers from rival clubs, although his future appears to be at Barcelona.
“Neymar has two years on his contract, the people can be calm,” Neymar’s father told Catalan newspaper Ara, via ESPN.
“We have not started to talk because we have spent too much time defending ourselves against the accusations that were coming from all over.
“We are calm with Barca and the club are with us. We will wait until May or June, we have time to talk. The offers are returning, but Barca are preparing in order to reject them.”
Neymar is currently the highest rated player across Europe’s top five leagues this season (8.57 rating) having directly contributed towards 27 goals in La Liga (18 goals + nine assists).
