Norwich acquire former England U21 international

Norwich have today confirmed the signing of Alex Pritchard from Premier League side Tottenham.

The 23-year-old struggled with injuries and consistency last season, registering just 67 minutes of top-flight action for Spurs and on loan at West Brom.

Brighton looked to be on the cusp of securing Pritchard’s services, not the Canaries have since landed the attacker on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

“Norwich City are delighted to announce the signing of Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Alex Pritchard on a four-year-deal for an undisclosed fee,” a statement read on the club’s official website.

“The 23-year-old moves to Carrow Road having progressed through the Academy system at Spurs, where he made two Barclays Premier League appearances.

“After spells on loan to Peterborough United and Swindon Town in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons respectively, Pritchard excelled during a similar stint at Brentford during the 2014-15 campaign.

“Featuring 47 times for the Bees, Pritchard scored 12 Sky Bet Championship goals to help guide his side to the play-offs, earning himself a place in the division’s Team of the Year in the process.

“Such form also saw him named as Brentford’s Players’ Player of the Year, with the creative midfielder going on to spend the second half of last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion.”
