Leicester have put a £45m asking price on Riyad Mahrez’s head in a bid to ward off interest for last season’s PFA Player of the Year, claims The Daily Telegraph.
Claudio Ranieri’s side are determined not to lose anyone else from their Premier League winning squad last season after Chelsea signed N’Golo Kante for £32m last week.
Mahrez, 25, has been heavily linked with a move to a number of Leicester’s Premier League rivals and the Foxes have offered the Algeria international a new £100,000-a-week deal in a bid to tie down his long-term future.
Only Jamie Vardy (30) played a direct hand in more goals in the Premier League last season than Mahrez (28).
