Gueye hands in transfer request for Paris Saint-Germain move
Idrissa Gueye has asked Everton to let him join Paris Saint-Germain this month, reports Sky Sports.
Gueye has emerged as a top transfer target for PSG this month, as Thomas Tuchel desperately looks to bolster his midfield options.
With Marco Verratti injured, and Adrien Rabiot and Lass Diarra unlikely to play for the club again, Tuchel is concerned by a lack of cover in midfield.
PSG announced a €40m deal for Chelsea target Leandro Paredes on Tuesday but are still keen on Gueye.
Everton do not want to sell the 29-year-old and have already rejected PSG’s opening offer of £22m.
However, Marco Silva’s side now face an even tougher next few days after it has emerged Gueye has formally asked to join PSG.
Since the beginning of last season, Gueye has won more tackles and interceptions combined than any other player in the Premier League (310).
