Manchester United are preparing a big money move for West Ham United man Dimitri Payet, reports the Sunday Mirror.
Payet was one of the stars of Euro 2016, leading to reports linking him with a move away from the Hammers, with Real Madrid interested.
West Ham retained the services of the 29-year-old, but their poor start to the season could see Payet question his future in east London.
The France international only signed a new contract in February, so West Ham are under no pressure to sell their key man, but a big money offer from United would certainly test their resolve to retain Payet’s services.
West Ham would demand at least £35m for Payet, who has played the most key passes (43) in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
Jose Mourinho is believed to be a big fan of the former Marseille man and while a January move doesn’t seem possible, a summer transfer could be on the cards, particular if West Ham fail to secure a European finish this season.
