Manchester United have two days to pay €50m for transfer target
Inter have given Manchester United a deadline of Saturday to match their €50m (£44m) valuation of Ivan Perisic or miss out on a deal altogether, reports Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Serie A giants need to raise €30m (£26.4m) by the end of the month to meet their Financial Fair Play obligations but have no interest in selling Perisic for below current market value.
Inter’s financial pressures have been eased by the sale of Ever Banega back to Sevilla for €9m (£7.9m) and they have now told United, or any other club interested in the Croatia international, that they must match their valuation by June 30.
Luciano Spalletti’s side are simply not interested in selling Perisic for anything less than €50m and will take him off the market and start the process of handing him a contract renewal if no suitors come forward with their valuation by Saturday.
It makes the chances of United, who are currently negotiating with Real Madrid for Alvaro Morata and Chelsea for Nemanja Matic, signing Perisic slim, having been reluctant to offer anything more than £35m.
Perisic played a direct hand in 19 goals in 36 league appearances for Inter last season (11 goals, eight assists), his best ever return in a single league campaign.
