AC Milan have announced Leonardo Bonucci has completed his move from Juventus on a five-year deal until June 2022.
Bonucci completed his medical last weekend after Milan brokered a stunning £35m deal for the Italy international.
The 30-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester City for almost twice what Milan paid but the centre-back had no intentions of uprooting his family out of Italy.
Milan have arguably pulled off the biggest transfer of the window by landing Bonucci and their total expenditure has now surpassed the £150m mark this summer.
“He is a player with international experience,” head coach Vincenzo Montella told the club’s official website. “Technically, I think he and Sergio Ramos are the strongest central defenders in the world. Coaching him is a dream come true.”
No outfielder completed more accurate long balls in Serie A last season than Bonucci (230).
