Napoli have begun contract talks with Chelsea target Kalidou Koulibaly, according to French outlet RMC, via Get French Football.
Chelsea have been linked with a staggering £60m move for the Senegal international all summer but Napoli are determined to keep hold of their star centre back.
The 25-year-old still has three years remaining on his existing deal but Napoli are keen to get the defender to commit his long-term future and end speculation about a summer exit.
Since the start of last season only two players have won possession more times in the defensive third than Koulibaly (159).
