Burnley are on the verge of securing the services of Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia, reports Sky Sports, via Football Italia.
Ranocchia spent the second half of last season on loan at Hull but could not help prevent the Tigers from relegation back down to the Championship.
The 29-year-old is deemed surplus to requirements by new Inter head coach Luciano Spalletti despite the fact Jeison Murillo could follow Gary Medel out the club this summer.
Ranocchia is now reportedly close to joining Burnley, who are keen to bolster their defence after selling Michael Keane to Everton in a deal worth £30m earlier in the summer.
The Italian defender made 16 league appearances for Hull in the second half of last season and actually proved a threat from set pieces at the start of his time at the club, playing a direct hand in four goals (two goals, two assists).
In fact, he scored or assisted more goals at Hull than in his previous four league campaigns combined (3).
