Chelsea have sounded out the possibility of signing Layvin Kurzawa from Paris Saint-Germain this month, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Antonio Conte’s side are locked in transfer talks with Roma for Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri but negotiations have slowed and the Blues are considering alternatives.
It would come as a huge shock if Chelsea didn’t sign Emerson as a deal appeared set in stone regardless of whether Dzeko moved to Stamford Bridge or not.
However, it has now emerged that the defending Premier League champions are also interested in Kurzawa as Conte desperately looks for competition for Marcos Alonso at left wing-back.
Kurzawa has struggled to find his best form for PSG this season and has only played half of their Ligue 1 games thus far.
The 25-year-old became the first defender in Champions League history to score a hat-trick earlier this season and is renowned more for his offensive threat than his defensive capabilities.
In fact, no defender has played a direct hand in more Ligue 1 goals since August 2013 than Kurzawa (27).
