Liverpool midfielder set for blockbuster new deal

Liverpool are set to reward Adam Lallana with a new four-year deal worth £150,000-a-week, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Lallana, 28, has emerged as a key player for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp and was named England’s player of the year for 2016 at the end of last month.

The former Southampton star has added goals and assists to his performances and is now arguably one of Liverpool’s most important players for the aggressive pressing game Klopp likes to play.

As a result the club are now looking to make Lallana one of the highest earners at the club and secure his future until 2021 by which time he will be 32.

In the Premier League this season Lallana has played a direct hand in 14 league goals, only Gylfi Sigurdsson has played a hand in more of all midfielders thus far (15).
