Real Madrid supremo still dreams of signing former Barcelona star

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez still dreams of signing Neymar, according to the Brazilian's former agent Wagner Ribeiro.

Neymar has been on Perez's Real Madrid wishlist since his time at Santos and the Los Blancos supremo is still hoping to see the 28-year-old play at the Bernabeu.

Former side Barcelona are still in the market to bring Neymar back to Camp Nou and it's likely that Real Madrid would rival the LaLiga champions if PSG do elect to sell the Brazil international.

Whether Los Blancos could pull off a move for Neymar, it remains to be seen, but according to Ribeiro, Perez may give it his best shot.

"Neymar wanted Barcelona [when he was at Santos]. I tried hard to take him to Real Madrid, I brought three of Real Madrid’s directors to Sao Paulo," Ribeiro told ESPN.

"They spent 15 days in my office with Neymar’s father, with Neymar, trying to sign him. But in the end, Neymar followed his heart; he wanted to play for Barcelona.

"Florentino dreams of signing Neymar. Last year, in May, I went to Florentino's office and he told me he still has this dream."

Neymar left Barcelona for PSG for a world record £198m in 2017, yet he has been routinely linked with a move back to Spain.

During his time in France, Neymar has completed more dribbles (307) than any other player, despite only featuring in 52 of a possible 103 Ligue 1 matches.
