Chelsea have added England duo Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland to their list of potential replacements for Thibaut Courtois, claims The Sun.
Courtois is on the verge of joining Real Madrid but Chelsea first have to secure a replacement before signing off on the deal.
After missing out on Alisson’s signature to Premier League rivals Liverpool, Chelsea have been forced back to the drawing board.
Kasper Schmeichel has been touted with a move to Stamford Bridge off the back of his fine form at the 2018 World Cup, but Leicester boss Claude Puel insists there have been no offers.
Maurizio Sarri’s side are reportedly considering a shock move to re-sign Petr Cech from Arsenal, while Manchester City outcast Joe Hart has even been mentioned.
However, it has now emerged that Chelsea have added England internationals Pickford and Butland to their list of potential replacements.
Butland is expected to leave Stoke this summer following their relegation to the Championship but there have so far been no takers for the 25-year-old.
The Potters are hoping to command in the region of £20m for his signature, which could potentially be four times as cheap as Pickford.
The 24-year-old was a revelation for England at the 2018 World Cup and his reputation soared off the back of some fabulous performances for the Three Lions.
Everton shelled out a club-record £30m to sign Pickford from Sunderland 12 months ago and will hope to bank at least twice that much if they are forced to sell this summer.
Butland made more saves than any other goalkeeper in the Premier League last season (142), while Pickford ranked fourth in the same category (120).
