Inter target Lautaro Martinez is ready to undergo the first part of his medical ahead of a move to the Italian side, despite Arsenal’s rumoured interest in the youngster, according to Sport Mediaset via talkSPORT.
The 20-year-old Racing Club striker has established himself as one of the most promising young talents in Argentina and his stock has risen considerably on the back of what has been a great season so far.
Indeed, Martinez has scored eight goals and registered a further three assists in 12 Superliga appearances as Racing Club strive to finish in a Copa Libertadores spot.
Arsenal had looked to make a late swoop for the youngster, but it appears to have been in vain with reports suggesting that a £17m fee has been agreed between Inter and Racing, despite the player insisting a deal is yet to be struck.
Martinez will now undergo the first part of his medical in his native Argentina before a comprehensive series of tests later this year with Inter confident the move will be confirmed in the summer.
