Pogba told to hand in transfer request to leave Manchester United

Real Madrid have told Paul Pogba he needs to hand in a transfer request to secure a move away from Manchester United this summer, claims The Sun.

The Spanish giants have earmarked Pogba as a top transfer target this month but do not intend to match United’s £120m valuation.

Pogba does not believe United have moved forward since he re-signed three years ago and does not want to spend his peak years playing at a club that will not challenge for major honours.

The France international is desperate to join Madrid this summer but Zinedine Zidane’s side are not interested in being dragged into a summer-long saga.

Pogba has been warned he faces the risk of missing out on a dream move to Madrid if he does not accelerate the process by handing in a transfer request.

While United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is willing to sanction a deal with Madrid, the club’s chief executive, Ed Woodward, would rather keep the 26-year-old.

Despite only really hitting his best form for two months of the season, Pogba still finished with career-best statistics in a league campaign, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists.
