Manchester City title winner extends stay at the Etihad

Ederson has committed his future to Premier League champions Manchester City.

The Brazilian was a key player in their title success and has penned a new deal with the club until 2025.

“Goalkeeper Ederson has committed his future to City by signing a new deal keeping him with the Club until 2025,” a statement read on the club’s official website.

“The Brazilian arrived at the Etihad from Benfica last summer and enjoyed a wonderful debut campaign, keeping 21 clean sheets and receiving a nomination for the coveted PFA Young Player of the Year award.

“His new agreement is reward for his superb performances and he has set his sights on more success with the Blues.”

On his new contract, Ederson said: “I’m delighted to sign my new contract.

“It means that the Club is happy with my work, they trust me, and I hope to meet their expectations on the pitch and bring a lot of joy to the fans.

“I want to win everything we can! All of the competitions, but for me the Champions League is without a doubt a very special competition for us, and it is my dream to win it in Manchester City’s shirt!”

City conceded fewer goals (27) than any other Premier League side this season, with Ederson, 24, key to that.
